Hi all,

Not got my new Disco 2 yet but been told by the owner (work friend) that there's about 6 months left on the MOT.
I would like to preempt anything that may come up so that i will have the 6 months to get things sorted.

What sort of things do i need to look out for on the Disco 2 facelift model generally.

Many thinks in advance.

Andy

Ha ha, yeh I've read about the rust on the rear chassis and like most it's got a hole or 2 so will be buying the patch kit.
All the lights are on and off on ignition so no problem there
Didn't think to ask for the advisory from previously so thanks for that.

Prety much what I've read about.

Many thanks for replys

If you go on the dvla web site you can see any problems for your reg ;)

Go on the mot history site and check what its failed on before. Find someone nearby with a Nanocom or Hawkeye for a plug in and find out what really wrong with it!!

Did anybody mention rust? ;);) Rear chassis legs, under tank, inner wings, check under bonnet carefully, otherwise need to remove inner wing wheel arch covers, around rear suspension mounts, bags or springs, around fuel filter housing, also check if wet in this area.

Read a lot on here or D2BC to identify the common issues. There is an excellent buying guide on D2BC.

Enjoy....

Can be heavy on brakes so check pads and discs. Steering arm gaiters snd all that stuff. Brake pipes can be crusty, like any old car.
Check your wheel bearings.
