Series 3 Best quality Swivels currently on market

Having read through the various historical threads the gerneral conclusion some time ago seems to be that Britpart were crap but quality is now better and pretty much all that is on the market at the moment anyway.
Would that be current assessment at this time?
I need to start buying parts for the restoration and the axles and the obvious place to start to get them under the chassis.
Not sure just what is good yet, don't mind paying reasonable money for quality parts that last but don't want to pay for gold plated ones

I think the problem is there is no right answer. Even when you research and choose a supplier the parts that arrive may be in a blue box. Also a lot of suppliers are re-packing the same parts so you may just be paying for a different colour box. I've used a lot of BP parts and some have been excellent, others got changed out in weeks, what they did all do was keep me on the road for a very low outlay. It works the other way round too. BP are buying up old stock so some people are opening blue boxes and finding OEM parts.

Got my chrome swivels Britpart in 2018 for £160 ex. Vat from island 4x4, fitted well with bearings and look good no early pitting , so if not paying LR prices for best quality then they seem good quality for price

All my past landy's inc 4 x series and a D90 all had BP ones fitted without any prob's

I've got BP ones redy to fit when I get a chance to go near the Landy again. Too much other stuff getting in the way.

Magic, will get them ordered if they are of reasonable quality.
Just as an aside has anybody ever tried to have originals hard chromed or would the grinding to size afterwards be the issue, thinking motorcycles forks here but sizing is obviously easier for them as they are tubes.

I fitted black teflon coated ones on my defender 6 years ago still look minted last month.

Agreed, I've seen people clean and fill them then teflon paint and had it last quite well. In the end its not a bearing surface, its just the seal so while hard chrome is nice its not the only possible surface. On a new car that would probably be plastic.
