Hope someone can help.

Tried removing my fan today. I purchased spanners from fleabay... I specifically asked for my vehicle. Of course they don't fit.

So the space between the domed water pump, and fan is like 2mm.

Are the original tools the only option? lrt 12-214 lrt 12-094

Always used the spanner & lump hammer on my RRC.
Bit or rag to jam the belt on a pulley helps.

The belt just turned. It's so difficult to hold that back nut. It's like 3mm max space. Obviously has to be square on to

First time I took fan off my td6 I had same problem couldnt stop pulley turning had to go to halfords and get the double ended laser spanner to hold pulley while I had my normal viscous spanner on the fan.

Issue is. The clearance to the back nut is tiny. Like 2 or 3mm. Really difficult to hold square. I get a spanner as you said and try it again. Many thanks

You'll find it easy with the laser spanner, it's offset so fits well from either side, and leaves loads of room for a normal 32mm to get on the larger nut
