Had a call off a mate today saying his 200 tdi defender cut out at low speed driving up a field
I went round and recovered it and on inspection the rocker shaft and Injection pump pulley dont move when turning the crank and some push rods are bent
What are the chances of getting away without valve and piston damage ?
Any tips for getting everything timed correctly ?
The part numbers I've come up with are ,belt kit DA1200 ,front crank seals ETC4154 and ERR1632 are these correct ?
Thanks

Normally just pushrods, occasionally a broken rocker.
There's a sticky for belt change should help you with drill bit sizes for timing

I have known two people do the same, and as said above a couple of pushrods/new belt/tensioner etc, and off they go again.

Banana pushrods ,all else seems ok I had a set of pushrods so top ends built back up
All valves were same height ,just need the belt kit to come

Absolutely love these engine!
...got meself a 2014 Ford ranger, 2012 Ford fiesta, 2017 Shogun and a 99 disco 2 that I transplanted with a 200Tdi.

Guess the one that gets driven the most.
13 years and over 300K on the clock, and never missed a beat.....well, aside occasionally eating those small alternator belts.

The farm i live on, the farmers son put a 200tdi in a Disco2 with a blown up V8 some years ago, ran well, he had to have some adapter fabricated from Ashcrofts i believe.

He only sold it when he got wind of MOT regulation changes as he had a few issues with warning lights, he never even wired the glow plugs up. He always reckoned post the conversion the 300tdi would have been a better option but his J reg Mk1 disco was rotten and so he gutted that for the Disco 2 conversion
