What did you do with your Range Rover today

People I know who don't believe the "hype" suddenly believe the hype as more and more people we all know are getting it closer to home. My own eldest and his pregnant partner both got it.. I can't help thinking we will all get some form of it...

Yes, it will become endemic like colds and flu. Chances are anyone over 35 will have to have a vaccine against the latest strain each year or so. That or those whose immune systems go into melt-down will die out and the ones left will just think it is another cold. 3 out of the 4 main agents that cause the cold started out this way. I just wish we could work out what makes some people so much more vulnerable and then they could be prioritised.
 
Finally received the bits I need so rebuilt the EAS compressor again for the second time in a month. Used X8R parts this time so hopefully will last longer than a week.
Compressor re fitted and fired the beast up. Left the bonnet open for a while as I knew the system was completely empty. Closed bonnet and watched a thing of beauty rise up on the new rear airbags. (new ones on the front about 2 years ago). All systems working fine so took the beast out for a drive and wow, The old rears were working and maybe my imagination but the vehicle just feels better.
Tried a small bit of lumpy stuff too just to make sure everything is good and yes the magic carpet ride is back.

Yesterday, the battery on the P38 Diesel went flat, and I realised the MOT is due, so today, I checked the battery, found it was only a year old, and decided I would charge it.
Maybe I'll book it for its MOT and a big service for next week, but can't decide if I'm not better off waiting a week until there is a little more daylight.

Scottish winters are miserable.
 
I got round to looking at the fip, only the top seal was leaking so just did that one and taped the pump in towards the engine to bring the modulation down,
took it for a run seams smoother and a bit more power got back and plugged the lap top in conected up and got run time error soo can not check the modulation:(
changed a couple of bleed off pipe and the one to the map sensor as that had nearly rubbed through its now got the stainless braided pipe on:)
and fuel consumption is better as well:D
 
Had a message last night off the dealer chap who i nearly bought the P38 Vogue SE off just before Xmas which developed a bad oil leak day before i was due to collect it. Turns out it is the " Valley Gasket " and the dealer has instructed his 4x4 specialist to strip the top of the engine off and replace ALL gaskets including both head gaskets. If he is going to all these lengths to fix it which IMHOP is a good thing then should there be any other items which should be changed as a matter of course at the same time as all the top end is off so i can ask him and suggest it as i am still very much interested in the car.

I have also been in talks with a chap who is selling a rather nice 1998 P38 2.5 TD ( NON EGR model ) so an early example which he is the second owner of from new and the first owner is a good friend of his. Having had a TD Westminster previously albeit a late 02 EGR model i was just wondering if there are certain " BETTER " advantages to having an earlier model as opposed to a late example TD??? less to go wrong?? no EGR to worry about, No MAF sensor either?? all good perhaps?? Sadly lock down prevents me from going to see it and he is asking IMHOP way OTT for it too. I always said i would NOT discount another diesel P38 plus i still have all my new bits for one too. LOL
