Well i should of heeded that advise i had to go out and get some paint as i am not allowed to sit around whilst off work, so thought i will give the p38 a run started ok went to come back with purchases and guess what battery not up to it:(
The halfrauds next door were not helpful unless i purchased a new battery i checked and there system could not find the car from the reg:( so sod them
fortunately i had the jump leads a nice guy saw me connecting them and offered a jump from his:) so quick cancel of assistance from the wife and off back home, its now on the drive on charge and may well get the diesel pump sorted now its parked up off road.

M8 I got one of them chargers that rejuvenate the battery, don't know how it does it, but you know what I mean it recovers it, you can borrow it if you want
 
A few weeks ago rebuilt the compressor on the EAS new piston sleeve and ring and O rings as it was due and was worn. Also got new airbags (Dunlop) for the rear as i also knew they were due and had a slow leak in the offside rear.
Went out today to go into town and bugger wouldn't lift past access height. So thinks I the leak has finally got to where its going out as fast as its going in. Its minus 4 and threatening to snow so brave the cold and change the bags.
Yes they were well worn and split and needed doing. Pleased with myself I climb in and start up, gets to access height and stops lifting. Compressor is running climb back underneath check for leaks.....Nothing. disconnect the compressor line from the compressor head put my finger over it and barely a whisper. Removed the compressor took off the head and white powder inside and the piston is like the proverbial cock in a shirt sleeve the new piston ring now looks a size too small obviously all the powder inside must have been what was the ring...... it has worn away in 3 weeks. No it wasn't a cheap Chinese kit it was a good one from Island so hoping it is just a faulty ring so this time have reordered just the ring and O rings. So now its another 2-3 weeks wait until another one arrives from the UK. You think you are doing the right thing by replacing stuff as its due and it bloody bites you. Should have left the compressor.

I don't think Dunlop compressors have a good press,they can be identified by having an aluminium casing.there was photo's posted a while ago. @kurtjohnson10 is the guy to ask. ;)

That's all well and good but its then the postage out to here and it's just over the 1.5kg airmail limit so its then DHL at quite a considerable amount. However, if the next kit does the same (ordered from another supplier) it will be the next option.

Are you in a position over there to be able to find another car as a spares car for you or are they very hard to find and see over there???

Very difficult to find over here and very expensive even with moon miles on them. I am often stopped in car parks and asked if i want to sell mine as its in really good shape.
Also I live in an apartment so storage for another beast would be difficult and as I work away I already pay for parking for this one while I am gone.

The Dunlop pumps are chinese knock offs, the Bags and dryer are Dunlop OE however the OEM compressor is an adaption of the Thomas 315 compressor from the States,.

I made the mistake of fitting a Dunlop one to mine and it lasted 2 months!!

£200 mistake, that YOU shouldn't make!! It even sounded like a skeleton wánking in a biscuit tin when it was new!!

My old compressor is/was in a million pieces so I bought a rebuilt OE unit from ebay from a chap called http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/original_landyair/

You can even send him your old one and he'll completely rebuild it..

He even sells the refurb kits..

X8R are the only ones that should be used to be fair.
