Hi all ive seen plenty of threads accross the net but no answers that help me i have a fl2 2007
Been left a couple of days went to start it i have no dash lights and the steering column does not unlock the radio and all works and the battery is fully charged.

I have tried.
pulling fuse 4 and 8 by glove box

Disconnecting the battery

Tapping the steering lock part to see if it will free up

Any help will be much appreciated

Thanks
Matt

I dont know for sure, but how are you confirming the battery is fully charged?
Can you try a confirmed fully charged battery?
Do you have any diagnostic equipment to prove its reading the key ok? (if thats even possible)

Hi

I put a multimeter on the battery it was showing over 12v and i added a brand new jump pack that made no differnce i have put it on a trickle charge to see if it will top up its only 2 years old.

Thats a good shout i have no way of reading that but a local garage maybe able to it almost feels as if the reader has gone

Cheers

Yeh ive wobbeld it as much as can but being locked it only goes so far. So frustrating as it drove and worked fine

Oh would you know if theres a reset procedure that i could try it had now warning just done it

Not without suitable diagnostic equipment.

The FL2 is an electronic nightmare to be honest. I believe Ford used it as a test bed for the a new breed of fully integrated electrical system, so the FL2 has electronic modules everywhere, which is a pain to diagnose without decent equipment.

Are you sure the fob is locking into to dock correctly, and not simply ejecting after its inserted? Can you pull the fob out easily, once its been pushed in, or do you have to push the fob for it to eject?

Ah not so easy then i always thought i would bump into some gremlins. I will pop out to it and double check that in a moment.

Do you happen to know if the docks are coded to the vehicle.

Mine has had a continuous string of gremlins since I bought it in July. :(

I believe they are, so will require configuring to the vehicle.

To be fair mines be good in 3 years i done a fan belt. And turbo pipe and engine mount.

Been out to check the dock lights up green put key in as normal it holds in place firm i can not pull it out until i do the release procedure

So the mechanical stuff in the dock is working, but it appears the fob docked message isn't getting to the CJB.
I'm not sure were the issue lies, without running a diagnostic on it.

Ah so ideally i need to get it diagnosed to figure out what's going on between the two parts.
Maybe time to invest in some diagnostics for this one
well thanks for the help so far is much apreciated.
