FL Mistery...

It was started few days ago when I started the car just after I sprayed an insect spray to side mirror and back door handle. Well there were two big spiders living there in case you all wonder why did the hell's name I sprayed the insect killer.
Maybe it was just coincidence but who knows with FL. All ABS, TC, HDC amber lights were on and I could hear full fan was also running. Stopped the car immidiately and open the bonnet but couldnt see anything wrong. oooh I also played around with the side mirror joystick to make sure it was still working and it was..thank god.

Now I dont see the F4 code again I hope I wont ever see it again. But few days after well its today actually at 3pm a new problem appeared. I drove about 100km non-stop with AC on all the time in 42 deg celsius summer weather and the FL decided to just stopped and wouldnt start at all. Luckily it happened when it was on our driveway. Open the bonnet I nearly burn my fingers when I lifted the edge of the bonnet. It was so bloody hot. Waited for few hours and it started just fine. Another FL mistery I guess...anyone have any ideas??

I really wish I could ...but couldnt do anything at least untill end of Jan 08 I guess...need to see how my first home construction is really goin...bloody US home crisis! we got the affect down here...

Btw, what you guys think about 300TDi Disco?? Are they the same unreliable LR??

Compared to a freelander they are, the Nadir of automotive engineering. (but then so is a lada) Yes they have faults but they are easily fixed for very little money. the exact opposite of Gaylanders.

What make them easy and cheap to fix than FL?? I guest they are use more electronic than 200Tdi but less than TD5...

Dont you think they have the same realiability issue with FL but it is just there more disco on the road so more after market or used psrts available and not to metion disco drivers are more mechanically minded than FL drivers...

Aha! The problem is obvious! Spiders are not insects so the spray didn't have any effect on them other than to REALLY **** them off and make gang up against your electrical and cooling systems!

Besides, the mirror spiders are LR standard fitment on the GS model and above...

Agreed! The spiders didnt like that.insects generally have 3 pairs of legs, usually 2 pairs of wings.
They are out to get you, dont kill the spiders.
Seriously, something in the spray with conductivity properties has shorted out the electrics, there is the mirror motor wires and mirror heating wires, all open contacts.

sun glasses and some gloves might help

they do help. I have them ready in the glove box But still we didnt dare to go out in FL today and tommorow...well its 41 deg C again today and tommorow...

I have same f4 flashing, how did yours work out?

dont worry it will go when its ready to go...just be patient
