yeh downloaded the rave files .... just cant seem to work out how to get the things to work

Easy...

The files are .iso image files (they're an 'image' of the CD saved to a single file)

The CD can be reconstructed from this 'image' using CD writing software, such as Nero, etc...

BUT... you don't have to do that, if you don't have CD writing facilities, you can use software, such as Alcohol 120%, to create a virtual CD drive from the image file.

An even easier way is to use the un-zipping software WinRAR (available for free download, Google it), this will 'un-zip' an .iso file into a folder of your choice on your hard-disk, from where you can run RAVE by browsing to the folder and double-clicking on rave.exe

The first time you run it - it automatically creates a shortcut to rave.exe on your desktop, so you can run it from the shortcut after that.

Someone on this forum kindly gave me a hyperlink to the Rave manual for my Discovery 2. This was ages ago and I've not been able to view any of the information. Can someone now please help me to understand where the files are and how I can open them ?
I unzipped the file and have this (screenshot):
Picture1.png

Not knowing what to do next I went through each folder and there are lots of pdfs and other types of file, none of which will open on my computer. The pdf problem is odd because I get an error message to say that the file cannot be opened.
Can someone please help? It would be a start if I could at least know which file in which folder I should be opening. Then, has anyone encountered the pdf problem?

You need to run it from the RAVE.exe application (38KB) - shown without its file extension in your picture

The pdf files are locked and will only run with the version of Acrobat 4 that comes with the RAVE disc.

You can't have any other versions of Acrobat running, when you launch RAVE.exe

After the first time that you run it, RAVE.exe will create a shortcut on your desktop.
