Morning All :D
Dry & Cool out there.:)
I am asked to assist my son do the simple job he agreed to do months ago to box in his pipework on the outside of the house.
I even took him to the woodyard to get the 5 x 1 timber to do it with about 4 weeks ago.
Now things sprang a leak this week, he is anxious to protect the pipes all of a sudden? ;)
Oh well, kids eh? :D
Have a great weekend. :D
There's nowt like experience to train the mind. :):):)

This is new then cos my Pro 520 was a one off buy and i got a whole pile of LR models on it as well as both Jag and Obd2, which I used this summer to diagnose a fubar lambda sensorm on wifey's Pluriel..
Sounds like this paying for constant updates thing is a new wrinkle. Once you have got it for a vehicle that is a few years old, I fail to see what updates it would need. After all the vehicle is no longer being made.
"Foxwell NT520 Pro update online:
With Internet access, you will always have the latest bug fixes, new vehicles, newly added parameters and functionality at your fingertips. And they are free for life long time after your registration."
from https://www.obdexpress.co.uk/wholes...MI0KXkk-ie7QIVBO3tCh0BqQY2EAQYBCABEgKw6fD_BwE
so don't understand why you thought you had to pay for this.
Too late for you now, unless you bought it online in which case you could return it within the 14 days, but I could get mine out tomoz and check to see if it covers Freelander, if you like. But pretty sure it does as it even covers Discos back as far as they went with electronic stuff. It covers my TD5 and my D1 V8.
Hawkeye and Nanocom are much more expensive and as far as I know only cover one model. But I do know they do more stuff.
Anyway, best of luck with it!:):):)
Not sure which foxwell I was looking at. It would have been the cheaper end of the range. Last looked 2 or 3 years ago. I have looked several times over the years. They were offering a yearly update thing which was charged. There were some devices that were free to update. I was just looking for something for my hippo. Then looked at a generic thing for cars in general. The updates provide bug fixes and adds in new code options as vehicle progress. So yer don't need to buy new hardware after say 10 years. But there's no guarantee updates will be available.

The hawkeye original was licensed to specific vehicles. It was the device you see hanging oft the side of a T4 Test Book machine which LR used. There was the later pro version. After that they came up with the hawkeye total, in the pro case. The Total was licensed for all vehicles. All devices needed separate purchased dongles for some tasks because the connection wiring on the odbii port is different when talking to certain computers on some cars. That put up the costs but they were at least one time costs. Additional licenses were not cheap but I guess if they hadn't of licensed them separate then it would have cost a lot more to buy if able to be used on all LR's. Later on as competition in the market increased they licensed the Total for all vehicles.

The main problem I have with diagnostics is finding one on youtube being used, before I buy it. Sellers will say yes to everything asked before the sale but if something doesn't work they ignore you. FL1 owners have had this with not being able to read the gearbox computer with certain devices which state they can. I have witnessed one confirm no faults. My hawkeye read and cleared the faults straight after. So it's all hit and miss between manufacturers of diagnostic kit and what they actually cover. I currently have a hawkeye original for FL1 and FL2. Gap iidbt and a mangoose ssd.

That still seems ever so expensive. Is that on limited mileage or not?

Gluten intolerance is an absolute sh!te. Put that together with allergy to fish, which she also has and sometimes she walks into a restaurant and has to come out again. There is gluten in SO many things, bread crumbs, sauces, chipsfor no fecking good reason, etc. We lost a days holiday to that after she had cheesy chips in Glencoe, or just off it, and both the bargirl and the chef SWORE there was no gluten on the chips. So hi or lo maintenance she has no choice.:(

That a shame I really feel for her, ive never known anyone to have that must be really hard for her. :(
