Hi all,

Just wanted to pick your brains.
Got a 2005 SC L322 with the 6HP26 box in with under 100k on the clock.
Done a gearbox oil/filter change, oil colour was fine as was magnet in the sump.

Sometimes when pulling away from a standstill, get a bit of what I can only describe as a slight "groaning noise" it almost plays its own tune each time it does it (same sound everyone it does it) ...if that makes sense. Lasts about a second, notice it under light acceleration between approx 5-10 mph.
Can everso slightly feel a vibe through the steering wheel when it does it.

Just passed MOT with no issues. Drives fine other than this, no issues.

I'm thinking gearbox, What failing part of the gearbox would cause this? @Bemble

Any thoughts?

Many thanks for your time.

Has yours had the front prop recall? 05 was the changeover year I think

Good shout...good question...I'm not sure TBH, only had it 7 ish months I've not looked.
Will have a look underneath and get back to you.
I didn't realise the front prop problem was still an issue 2005/6 but appears it was ...

Cheers.

Had a look at the front prop at the joint onto the diff.... Definitely got some Torx bolts holding it on, so it's already been updated/recalled.

Or the torque converter lock up clutch?

Not sure.
I've just driven it, Seems to be worse now... At higher speeds can feel a slight vibe/hear a slight groan.
Wondering if it's the front diff...... the 'groan' Doesn't get louder at higher speeds though.....

How to check if it's the front diff!?

Gentle throttle up a slight incline usually causes a vibration if the T/c luc is a problem.

Just a thought, is it something else like the body mounts groaning as the torque is applied, i.e. not transmission related?
