I reckon the alternator is on its way out - occasionally getting the battery flash on the dash and get the usual transmission fault flashing.. And occasionally it'll flick to German.

Any recommendations for a replacement?

Depending what the rest of the alternator is like replacing the regulator/rectifier seems fairly cheap and easy, compared to the price of a while alternator. Something I'm considering

From another thread...
For any V8 owners following, the Mobiletron Vr-F153a fits an AMR 4247 100A A127 and has a 14.7v set point. A Transpo IX123 fits, but Std set point...
My learning was to avoid using the LR part numbers to find a VR that merely "fits" but to dig deeper on the websites of the after-market manufacturers to find the right one and then search ebay using their own part code.
Hope it helps someone.

The Bosch on my 2000 Thor lump is 150Amp. It seems to max out at 14.3V.
I have a Bosch Part# 130958 waiting in the wings that is allegedly a 14.7V set point.
No idea what alternate regulator for an even higher Voltage would be though.
Keith @Datatek might know.

So.. I think after all the stuff I've done, this does need doing.

Symptoms:

1) driver display flashes very fast between door open, bonnet open etc (when they are) but if I hold revs just under 2k, it cycles through them normally.
2) prog and/or heated seats don't work.. Again they are fine if I hold revs just under 2k or above.
3) battery voltage is shocking when it's running, alternator just doesn't seems to be pumping out the right amount of juice.

So, do we think whole alternator or the rectifier?

Thoughts please.

If you remove the alternator. You can remover the rectifier from the alternator and check the brushes. Also look for burning and the like.
My original alternator is under my bench and I have the uprated brush/rectifier to go on it.

Bought a known good second hand one instead.
The one I take off will go in my spares box once repaired... Along with 2 eas compressors, valve block, driver and start motor! :D
