Hi all

i have a D2 V8 And its started to make a noise...looked under the bonnet - can see the ‘main fan’ is wobbly. Im no LR specialist nor mechanic so apols for ‘wording / description’ but the centre of the fan is connected to something behind it and thats also wobbling!

after a little bit of research, it looks like its the crankshaft pulley???

any advise gratefully received.

im guessing ‘dont drive’?

anywhere where i can get a description / guidance??

More than likely your waterpump is on it's last leg and is about to fall on its face...

New pump!

The Viscous fun runs off of the waterpump ;)

Any more specific on the noise? Whirring, whining, rattling?

I would listen, using a stick or a stethoscope, to everything driven by the serpentine belt on the front of the engine, and carefully examine the idler pulleys thereon.

If your Fan is hitting the shroud either you have..

1 A loose fan.
2 "likely" Your waterpump is about to shyte the bed ;)

Hi, first of all make sure that the fan is well tightened to the pulley cos on V8 the fan it's not one piece like on the td5, the blades and the viscous unit are separate parts
