Hello all - I'm new to Landyzone having recently scratched a long-standing itch and acquired a 2004 Defender 90 TD5. Trying to work out which jack to buy for using in the workshop as an alternative to the hi-lift (in order to get the Landy onto axle stands of course!). Feels like the lift on a standard trolley jack or bottle jack would not be enough? Any guidance would be gratefully received!

For stability use a trolley jack. Any decent 2/3 ton jack will give its max lift in it's speck. So called "long "trolley jacks are available with higher lift.
If workshop has limited space like mine then a long jack can be a pain. A block can increase the lift of a standard jack with care. Avoid the small [ cheap ] portable types.

I have a 3ton trolley jack. works for the defender and the RRs:) dont get a cheap 1 get a good quality HD 1.

All I ever use are a disco bottle jack or a merc sprinter bottle jack, both twin stage so have decent lift, easy to store/carry.
