New galvanised Bulkhead

Or you brought someone's stolen parts.... Which is the mostly likely
Also going to disagree with that. I have a 200tdi in mine that came out of an old scrap discovery I bought, I have a galvanised chassis I bought new and fitted myself, and I have a bulkhead in the garage I am in the process of repairing and galvainiseing which will be fitted once complete. My vehicle will be exactly the same but I have the receipts for the disco, the new chassis and everything else sat in the service file for my 110. Bothe engine swaps, and chassis swaps are very common with these vehciels and one of the reasons so many of them are still on the road!

My chassis has no number on it. It’s a galvanised one I bought new for my rebuild. When my engine carped the scores in the bore were just enough to be able a rebore to be done. I suppose I could have got it sleeved. If it had cracked I would now have a different block, with a different number. I know what you’re saying, but on vehicles of the age many of us have on here it’s not unusual for us to have changed these items with legitimate parts. Non of us want to support Land Rover theft by buying stolen parts.

I have often thought the easy way to make money would be to buy a legit defender, break it and sell all the parts, but keep the vin plate/number plates, then steal another and fit your id plates to the stolen one, and voila another car that can legit be broken, repeat repeat, and every time you still own a legit defender, and if anyone asks you can prove its legit and have owned it for years!
I know I have a terrible mind!

I think you're getting mixed up with tax exempt and MOT exempt.
The engine swap only becomes an issue with MOT status, any old banger on the right aged plates is tax exempt.

I was thinking that, also, points system, isnt that just for retaining original Id?
