Hello
I've always fancied a Land Rover but never got around to owning one. Now I've ''inherited'' a 90 from my son!
I may be deceiving myself in thinking this will be a better bet in winter than my Forester, but I'm confident and/or stupid willing to give it a try. (so much so the Sub is going up for sale)
I'm quite used to and have enjoyed running older vehicles over the last 40 years. I've an '85 VW Camper for the summer (always an experience when we go out) and just got rid of an early Saab soft top. I'm used to having hands on motors and the need for deep pockets.
We will see how this relationship pans out.
It will be good to hear from you when I'm facing the inevitable hiccups

Welcome to LZ! :)

Hope you get the chance to find out. It may have broken down by winter! :D

Well it will be colder than the forester, louder, leakier, less reliable, less comfortable. It will also be far dearer to you if you get along with it and probably more fun to drive.... unless you have a jdm sti (which if so, you should keep)

Hi and welcome!

As well as thinking about the weather, look at decent security measures for the Landy, they’re very popular with thieves!

whilst i love my defender i have driven most of Subaru models over the years and methinks a late model Forester could beat it on snow covered roads

I think you’re probably right.
I’ll see how things work out as my sub which Ive had for 12 years has 175000 miles on the clock and is getting a little tired.
Anyway other things to think about as it’s MoT day for the 90 tomorrow!!
