No its staying rough & the splits are filled with epoxy that's what they wanted, personally I would have
tinted the epoxy to match the wood but hey ho
If we had that I'd be scared of wifey falling against the rough bits and I do agree about the splits, you can buy crayon type things to do it easily.
Hey ho, if you don't have to live with it it's OK!:)

What size are your worktops we'll start dressing them up at the weekend, you can have oak if you
prefer that. :D

Morning All:D
Thumping head here, too much Juniper related alcohol consumption.:(
Been and got her paper, moved her car for her (so window van can get access).
Sitting with a coffee, while the cat molests my legs under the desk.
Wet & blustery out there. I am surprised they can fit windows in such weather.
Have a great day everyone.:D

For once a lot of blue sky and only a few clouds. Am waiting for a coupla dry days in a row to be able to cut the weeds for the last time so i can park my big weed basher thingy int neighbours' garage for the season. they are going away 21st so the weather better hurry up!
Crossed fingers, cos yesterday's weather was dry at least.

We don't need any at the mo, in either place! Hope they'll see me out! Granite is tough stuff and the stuff in engerland can be sanded when it gets too many scratches in it, which it don't get many of as wifey looks at em every so often with her microscope and then comes after me to polish out any she finds.:eek:

Could be fun! When you tell him something the first time, intone the word "one" like a bell ring, the second time, intone "two", and so on. he may eventually get the picture.
Or alternatively write it on a bit of paper and just hold it up each time you need to say it!
:D:D:D

Have some real fun with it and pretend to be the Count from Sesame Street.
ONE! AH HAHA!
TWO! MWWAAAHAHAA

Neighbours just put their house on market, been lucky with neighbours but can't help feeling at some point I'll get a complete knob move in, probably a covid marshall and his wife Karen, partial to a good shouty argument at 2 a.m., a neurotic dog and their two teenagers that spend all day screaming at each other and slamming doors.
If I keep expecting this then it won't happen o_O

Quick, find somewhere else to park all those tatty old landies and stuff you have on your front and tidy it up a bit, else you'll get the cackers moving in!
That's why one set of our otherwise lovelyneighbours hate us so much!

It's ok, I'm moving to Norfolk so you should be good.....

Today's "New Window" fitting has been a mixed-bag.
The manufacturer made a mistake and supplied the wrong size of corner posts, and not enough sealing strips for the glazing.
The window-fitters have gone "off-piste" and fitted a hideously large Ali windowsill to my small casement window which has a tiled sill.:(
I only discovered this after they had left for the day, called their office and said they would need to remove the hideous monstrosity, office agreed its the wrong sill/trim for a casement with tiled sloped window-sill's.
They will be back tomorrow to "finish" fitting what they have, and then revisit in 10 days when the correct sized corner-posts appear. :)
Despite these disappointing elements the overall effect of the new windows is pleasant and quite dramatic.
Picture below show the new bay window on the upstairs in contrast to the old UPVC on the downstairs bay.

Easy option : buy it, park Landies in the garden; stack the house with spares ...
