Defender kangarooing

afternoon all,
Just started having issues with my 90.
In 1st and 2nd gears im experiencing bad kangaroo after that it stops until dropping back down to 2nd , thought it might be a boost isue at first but turbo seems ok,
Any one else experienced this?
Any help would be much appreciated.

What sort of engine has it got?

Its a 200tdi out of a disco

Does it seem to run OK no load?

And when did you last change the fuel and air filters?

Fuel and air filters have been changed around 2 months ago it had a full service, the engine seems to run fine, no spluttering or excessive smoke,

Is it the engine as in revs bouncing, or could it be the clutch?

Don't think its the engine , it could be the clutch , its only done around 1500 miles on the clutch at most. It just started happening out of the blue

Mine did similar when pulling off in first. I don’t think my clutch control was fantastic but last year one of my drive flanges failed, and ever since replacing it things have been nice and tight with no judder. Just might be worth checking all your driveline for issues.

I thought it was just me at first , so got someone else to try it with the same issue, i will have a good look over the driveline in the morning

Clutch plate might be sticking on the splines on the input shaft.
It would be helpful if you could post some pictures, so we can assess the general condition of the vehicle.
Did you get any gearbox reconditioning work done when the clutch was changed, and how many miles do you think the gearbox has done?
