I do know it is more or less impossible to import a Brit caravan over here

Its because of the lack of chassis ID and various paperwork from Manufacturer on them. Its difficult here too but do able as we had to do the last horsebox. Just needs a different inspection first and a number stamping (in our case they used a welded number on the chassis which was already there) then a bit of paperwork, But newer stuff should have all the required stamps and paperwork. our first horsebox did have chassis number so only needed to request some paperwork for it from Manufacturer, to go through the normal process, and the Brain James we brought in Germany as it then comes with all the required paperwork and its then straight forward.

I think the UK are catching up with the need for trailer registration and chassis numbers to stop all the theft of trailers.

Strangely quite a bit of stuff seems to be cheaper in Germany than elsewhere. My stepson bought his camper van there rather than in France as it was a lot cheaper. If he sells it he'll prolly make a profit even though he's had it a few years now!

We only brought there for the ease and correct paperwork for Europe:). Nobody in U.K. could provide correct paperworko_O
cos they don’t understand:).
