Evening all,

I'm part way through a chassis swap on my Series Bitsa. The new chassis has parabolics on (which are staying)
My original shocks don't fit, they are too short when fully extended.

The consensus seem to be the Pro Comp extended shocks. I've had a good look with the search function but there isn't much info from the last 5 years or so on the forum (that I can see - I'm not great with tech!)

Are the Pro Comps still the way to go. Or are there alternatives around that I should consider?

Cheers,
Pete.

Is your chassis still just that, with no engine, trans, body ? Standard parabolic should be fine with standard shock length but use gas types.

I have diabolics with standard shocks. The vehicle hasn’t fallen over yet

has it got standard length shackles or has it been lifted.

One ton shocks are longer and work ok the 3000 extended shocks do not last long have some on mine rubbers split and tend to rust the pistons.

Thanks for the input folks, I will keep my eye out for a set of 1 ton shocks I think.

At the moment it is just the chassis sprinhs and axles, no motor or body etc.
The thing that concerns me is that, even with no weight on, the springs still have more droop to go. Even though I don't plan on doing any demanding off road work, I would still like the shock to have more travel in reserve for a big pot hole etc.

It looks like standard shackles but I've not measured up yet. I hope it's not been lifted!
