I went out to the garage to test fit my rear door about 30 minutes ago, top hinge and bottom hinge fine, middle hinge not looking good.

I bought the door last summer, you know how Land Rover jobs go, knew I would not get it on anytime soon but certainly didn't think it would be over year. At the time I got it I took it out the box for a good look at and did spot the centre hinge holes were squint - see here:

I emailed SP panels and pointed this out, they said, "Judging by the mis-match in holes, it shouldn't really effect the fitting". Not really sure how she arrived at this, clearly has never tried to line 2 mismatched sets of holes up for bolting! Anyway she said, "I have spoken to the manager, he said that it's OK for you to go ahead and fit the door bottom before painting it." - Not sure why she said door bottom as it is a whole door but never mind.

So finally got around to it, and as I was certain it wouldn't fit properly, it doesn't line up on the middle hinge!

So I have just emailed them asking for them to swap out this door, it's a £250 door, I expect it to fit so lets see how they act on this one and see if they paint themselves into a nice picture.

Good luck. My experience of SP customer support and aftercare is shocking!

@Twinnie it might be a good idea to watch this thread. I think you would get some valuable info about what type of company SP is, and the quality, or lack, of their work.

I have previously posted a thread about SP4x4 when I bought a pair of their galvanised steel front doors last year.
Decent enough product when they (finally) get it right but non-existent quality control or customer service.
Certainly I would never recommend them.

Interesting reading all, seems like their poor reputation is quite well known. That is disappointing, I do not, as of yet have a reply from them, email went in at 13:45 yesterday.

Hi just ordered a pair of front doors from Paintman Panels 2a doors but with the holes for ant-burst door looks these were special order as they don't do them as standard so charged £5 extra for cutting the holes in each door and a two week wait so will update you when they arrive and I have fitted them.

I have now sent a gentle nudge email and still not a peep - I also note they are not listing a phone number.

My new doors arrived this morning from Paintman Panels each door packaged in their own box with plenty of padding good finish (etch primed) straight skin and nice weight to them. Removed the old one which was being used to fill the hole and aligne the hinges so just removed old door and bolted the new ones in and they lined up well as you can see

Isn't a 2A door with anti-burst locks just a late series 3 door?

Update: These guys sorted it all out!

SP sent me a new door before I even sent the old one back (I asked them to do this as I had binned the old box and that gave me packaging to return the old one) I knew I was not going to rip him off but he didn't know I wasn't so I was pleasantly surprised that he did it and it saved a lot of fuss. The new door seems better than the previous, just little things like a returned edge on the lock hole etc. Holes and things are all spot on - he admitted that there had been an issue and that they now have a jig that ensures this cannot happen.

I am going to buy a battery box from them soon - actually tried to yesterday but their website wouldn't move after I hit purchase, either that or I am going to be billed £700 and 10 will show up!
