It is with a heavy heart that I post this thread asking for advice. I am new to this forum and based in Northamptonshire. My beloved Discovery 2 has failed her MOT. She recently has had a new prop shaft, steering track rod and drag link, but alas the clutch has gone and on further inspection the amount of work (air suspension, bushes, brakes etc.) required to keep her on the road is ..well beyond what I want to pay. I knew when I bought her that she had been left standing for a few years (low mileage 66000) but her body work is much worse that I thought. My husband thinks I should scrap her but I am torn....spend the money and restore her or at the very least allow her to donate her best parts to live on in other Discos....what would you do? :(

As neilly says, pop over to the Disco section, they'll dish out tea/coffee, biccies and advice ....

When they've stopped laughing ... :D

Oh yeah ... piccies, they likes piccies ...

Welcome aboard :)

As one of the "Disco people" o_O - I advise spending the money and fixing her up .... properly.

All this guff about not economically repairable is, IMHO, a scam to get you to buy a new car, and keep the large corporations going.... Getting a better Disco might be an option for the same money - even a Jap re-import one ...

This is probably best done in the Disco section as already mentioned.... there is nothing on a D2 that is unfixable - expensive maybe .... Thing is .... what are you going to replace "her" with?

Read some of the things people find, the ingenuity of idiots is astounding ...
