As Alan says it is an AJV8 affliction..

OP has a RV8..

They can leak from many places..

Front cover
Water pump
Radiator
thermotwat housing

A common one is the throttle body leaking water onto a scalding hot rocker cover and dripping on to the exhaust, so it is "untraceable" ;)

Another one is the intake manifold has 2 large cooling ports each side and the rear bolts of the manifold are known to back out slowly (I have no idea why) torquing the rear intake manifold to spec again can stem a leak...

Coolant loss if an annoyance.

But it is either eating it or leaking it!

I will be happy with leaking it! It points to a leak somewhere, I changed the oil cooler when I serviced the gearbox... that's my first check, Alternator replaced at the same time... second check. I love my RR to bits, don't use her much but when I do I feel like a Lord. Funny thing is, looking at a Porsche boxster for the Mrs, it's terrifying the stuff that goes wrong with them, makes the RR a piece of cake to own once you get your head around the weak points..... my 09 diesel Jag is still waiting on a new ecu.... talking of cars which will empty your wallet!
