Hello! Have searched and searched the internet and hoping someone can help,have had defenders, discos and even dabbled with a santana! But just got a 2003 try and someone fiddled with seat and now only 1 function wont work which is a pain as theres a foot difference between me and my husband lol! It DID work but has since packed in, any ideas??

At least now we know which part, help might be more forthcoming.Although giving full details would also help.
When you say " 1 part", do you mean none of the functions work, or just part of the 'one part'?
If only forward and reverse, have you checked nothing is blocking it?
If all functions, it could be the ECU.

Sorry I should have been much clearer now when I read back lol it's just the up and down function on that part to the left side that has suddenly given up. The forward and backward and the front up and down on the right side all still working fine :/

So the foot difference between you and OH doesn't matter , as you can still reach pedals
However, this becomes, what did the who, who fiddled with seat, fiddle with? What exactly was done before it broke? The more details, the more people can help you. I don't know if the ECU can be broken bit by bit, as it a board. However, fiddling doesn't sound good

Have you tried wiggling it (oh er misses)....if the rest of the functions work, then the PCB controller still works.
Take a good look under the seat for any loose wires to the seat height motor as when you moved the seat around, it may have been loose, and the movement has loosened it to the point of falling out!
Also, remove the seat side trim and look at the rear of the switch pack for any loose connections.
If all those check out, getting it on diagnostics live data will show if the ECU is regsitering the switch activations....so it may even be a fuse - but I think the same fuse would serve other functions too...so that may be fine if it is just the one function that is faulty.

It sounds like it's time to take a look at the seat module ECU and the seat switch packs for dampness being the top of my list..
My L322 had this issue..
The seat was set for a yeti which is fine for me, but my Lass couldn't drive it

When you say "makes the noise" do you mean you can hear the motor whirring?
