I've been cleaning all the bits I've taken off before reassembly. The wood was very dull until I polished it with Autoglym super resin polish !
I'm a sad git so the wife tells me

If you were that sad, you need to replace those gators with leather. I done mine a while with ones bought from eBay. Not expensive and it looks great.

Very nice but makes the leather (?) gaiter look even more tired. If it were me I'd try a bit of leather dye on it, or take it off and use it as a pattern to make a new one.

I know, the hand brake gaiter's the same, I will replace them when I get the non cosmetic items seen to. On another note I took the drivers door lock out today as I read a post about cleaning them(I think it was yours) mine (drivers side) won't unlock on the remote so after cleaning it & spraying plenty of silicon lube in it,(didn't strip it) & putting back in you can hear it (solenoid) in the door clicking on the first push of the remote but not as loud or as positive as the clunk on the second push of the remote to unlock the other doors. Are these things fiddly to strip? (It unlocks with the key & locks on he remote & the rest of the system is fine. Any ideas much appreciated. O & did you get an answer from the electrical god about the Foxwell 530?

Right.
My posts were about the electric window mechanism, so i cannot help you with the locks, sorry.:(
And no i haven't heard back from @sierrafery about what is wrong with a 530. Maybe he'll get back on and tell us. but I am very happy with my 520 so won't be changing it anytime soon anyway. Would still like to know though.
If you Google (not the search on LZ which isn't as good, and if anything is on there, Google will kick you back into LZ anyway) about the locks and stuff, I'm sure you will find an answer, or answers. Many of us have had problems like yours.
Best of luck!:)

Ok, I'll try & re-search the posts I looked at. I know whoever wrote the post had a bit of aggro after stripping the lock but had a spare to go by to re-assemble it & it worked :D( I'll be smiling as well if I can save 138 beer tokens to spend on the disco you understand lol).Cheers.
