what size Tyre will fit on to MaxXtrac Blindo Alloy Wheel 16X7 Disco 1 / RR Classic / Defender ET15. i know that it will be 16" rim but i'm not sure what the middle measurement would be?

You want to ask in the correct forum.
Not many freelander forum members will know anything about other LR vehicle wheel fitments.

Standard tyres on the RRC & Disco1 are 235/70/16, 29" diameter tyres, defender is 235/85/16 with 32" diameter tyres. With a little arch surgery you can get to 265/75/16 on those vehicles, 32" tyre, but much larger contact patch, at 32"+ you are pushing the limits of the axles, notably halfshafts, that holds true or even the later 24 splined axles, and is way above what I'd recommend on the earlier 10 spline axles. The 15 offset should give you the room to run the 265/75/16 as its a lower offset an thus pushes the rum further out of the arches. The limiting factors on tyre sizes are Axle Strength, Body/arch clearance, and finally on full lock larger tyres, both wider or taller - even more so with tyres that are both wider and taller, tend to catch the axle trailing arm. So on full left hand lock, the "back" inner shoulder of the front left tyre catches / rubs on the front axles left trailing arm. You can mitigate this by adding spacers or decreasing offset of wheels, and adjusting the steering bumpstops which are very simple m12 19mm spanner size bolts at the ends of the axles.

PS: when you show your knowledge to the defender/RRC/D1 brigade, nicknamed the tratter boys, tell them you learned all this from a freelander driver, that'll throw the cat amongst the pidgeons. (although I own both a monstered D1 and an RRC as well)

Nothing from early LR fits the Freelander, but the Freelander changed PCD/bore/offset too, so you need to know what wheel PDC and what Freelander you want to fit them to.
Although the wheels pictured are minging, but it's personally taste I guess.

Surely it would be easier to get wheels that fit. I believe a some Jeep/Chrysler spec wheels fit, that's what @Diesel Do had on his F1. I presume it is an F1?

When you are considering tyres, its a good idea just to search in here for the spec you are looking at - for example if you search for 235/70/16 in the Freelander forum, there are lots of hits. They will generally tell you if they will fit standard or whether a lift and/or spacers are required. They will of course assume standard wheels/offset etc.

Getting a wheel with a compatible PCD and centre bore would be the best bet. You need a 5 X 114.3mm PCD with a bore of 64.1mm, the offset is ET46.
This size is shared with 5 stud Honda vehicles of the same era, as well as the US made vehicles listed by GG above, but some US vehicle 5 x 114.3mm wheels will need a spigot ring, to correct a slight discrepancy.

You are building a rally raid vehicle and don't even know how to fit wheels to it. Good luck!!!!

"Proper" Landy's use a 5x165mm bolt pattern, freelander 1's use a 5x114.3, so they are miles out, and with the 15mm offset there is no chance of getting spacers in there. Best bet would be 225/75/16" tyres on standard freelander alloys or 235/70/16 tyres on same freelander standard 16" alloys. Both of those sizes fit, and do so without spacers, although spacers could be added for a wider stance / improved handling.

The freelancers biggest drawback is its lack of ground clearance, but the tyres I've mentioned will give it a 1.5" lift (standard tyres are 26" diameter on a freelander - these are 29" diameter) you can then put a 2" lift kit on the vehicle, in total this gives it a 3.5" lift, and gives the freelander more ground clearance than a stock defender.

For a rally raid vehicle, you'd want some underbody protection, the stock "sumpguard" and I use the term loosely, has an aluminium frame, but a plastic plate, hence the condescending tones I refer to it with. You can get a replacement all ally unit for ~£300 if you can find them for sale, or replace the plastic sheet with some ally plate. Mine is now a 5mm aluminium plate welded to the original frame. Additionally there are tubular guards available to prevent the freelander ripping its exhaust / back bumper off. Terrafirma made one, and from the likes of muddymods:

5x114.3 is a common fitment amongst japanese sports cars, 200sx, 300zx, mr2 mkII SW20 (the nineties one), Supra, Altezza, lexus (all), Mitsubishi Evo, 3000gt, RX7 RX8, Certain Jeep models.... All subject to offset & centre bore fitments. Wheel fitment guides are available online https://www.wheelfitment.eu/PCD/5x114.3.html - centrebore is 64.1 on a hippo, so you need to look through all the options that are 64.1 or more.

But truthfully, I don't understand why you won't use the standard freelander alloys? They are cheeep, bolt straight on, and being 16" you can get a wide variety of offroad tyres for them. but its your call on the wheels, so crack on with the search.
