Impact driver might work. Set it to TIGHTEN first to shock it, then switch to loosen. Failing that, heat!

+1 - just increase the size of the hammer progressively ......
Once I got mine out the first time never fitted them again no problem the wheel holds the drum in place 20 years of not having to fight that screw.

No it's not out yet! I was looking at the back end while I was waiting for parts for the front end. Then the parts arrived and I've been working on the front end. It's going well. I will be on the back again next week and will up date!

Great news. Finally managed to get an impact driver and the drum release screw came straight undone!
Happy days! Now I can investigate why that brake is sticking!!

I see you already have it out but for those who wonder in the future or suggested violence or damaging methods then you need to use one of these - hammer impact driver basically - NOT an electric/air one.

I've never had one of these screws beat me with one of these, unless some idiot had not already mangled the screw with incorrect tools making it impossible, usually the Philips head screws mind you.

I also used to use an impact driver to get rusty wood screws out when doing my job as a chippy, don't take up much room in the tool box either.
