Right gents, I have a L322 which my wife loves and as me constantly repairing but we both love it and will keep. Iv been looking for a cheap P38 as a project and have seen a petrol with 120k on it been stood for a while but is in real good condition. Issue is it requires a new ECU. Now why I don’t know but before I make an offer what is involved in fitting a new one gents !!!

10 min job fitting an ECU BUT its what comes after, it probably needs diagnostics to get it up to speed.someone will tell you the whole story.

Or does the seller NOT want the engine to be started?;)
Could get expensive if you can’t hear it run.

BECM takes a few hours to change but it will need someone like Marty or Callrova to copy the information over. Either that or you'll need the keys as well and the new EKA and possibly diag to get the engine management sorted.

If you've got a method of collection, mines up for grabs.
Tatty in places but starts and drives OK. As the one you're looking at, mines been stood for a while but I do run it around the block occasionally.
Scrap value gets it. Once it's gone, there'll be a nanocom up for grabs too.
It's a 2000 4.0 hse with I think about 140k on it.

I thought Oakley was taking it?!

Think I posted some pics when I got it.
Here it is again on the day it came home.

Well just bought a 2000 vogue diesel 130 miles away from me. 8 months mot 138k starts runs and drives and looks in good condition but suspension won’t go to its highest level. Will get it home look over it and I have a set of Schroeder valves anyway just to run it around for a while £750
