Wondering if it is possible to carry a D2 headliner in a D2 (without swopping it with the old one). Is it possible to suspend it below the original one holding it in place with bungee cords from the grab handles?

Unlikely. Strap it on the roof, and dont drive fast. Or strip out your old one, before you collect.

Thought of that, but it's a bit far and, if it happens, later on this year when the weather isn't as tropical and they don't advertise a fitting service either.

Where are you having it done ? Theres a guy on Ebay that will supply a new fitted recovered one for around £250 fitted. He just takes your old one off and recovers it for the next person.

There's a guy up in Cockermouth who does them as well and that's only 50 miles from me. But I've had mine out a while back to do the usual sunroof leaks and it looks like it's been out before as the front bit has a crease in it so I've been wondering about this and how well they fit.

£300 for a new one with a glass fibre backing sounds good to me. They do Jag ones as well and looks quite flexible...

.

There are peeps who take the covering off, paint it and put it back on, also others who recover it themselves.
Being a tightwad, I'd probly do one of these, but different strokes for different folks 'n' all that!
