Re-using old bolts!!!
I'd use new ones.
If they are non critical I suppose i'd soak them and clean them on the wire wheel of the bench grinder.

Agree to the replace...but here in Portugal can't replace some on my P6 resto...

thread nuts on a round screw driver shank or similar then hold up to a pedestal wire wheel,bolts can be done singularly

Removal of rust on "stuff" you want to keep as part of a resto can be done cheaply with this stuff:-

However, as already mentioned - if the bolts or set screws are available at sensible cost, there is little point - just replace them with new. Even the rarer stuff like 5/8ths UNF is available on the bay for reasonable cost.....

Looks like there are quite a few rust removal products. But not sure if they are available in the UK.

Do it for free with an old phone charger and water. You may have to run the gauntlet of pinching a spoon full of baking soda off the Mrs.

I’d better explain.
Take an old phone charger and cut the socket off. Expose the two wires about 30 mm then with the power on dunk them in a glass of water. After a few seconds the negative wire will start to bubble. This one goes on your nut/bolt. The other wire goes on a scrap piece of mild steel. Stick em in water with a spoon full of soda or salt and switch on for an hour or so. Wire brush them.
