Hi all, got a bit of an odd problem I could do with some advice on please.
Had no hazards working and an indicator issues so changed the hazard switch. That sorted the hazards. However I still have an issue with the indicator stalk. Right indicator works fine in all ways, but the left hand indicator doesn't work if the lights are on. Works ok if they're switched off, but as soon as the light swith is moved the indicator stops flashing. ?? Any ideas?

Yeah, I thought that. Wasn't sure if the lighting switch ran off the same circuit as the hazard/indicators somewhere along the wires?

Was kind of keeping my fingers crossed someone on here has had the same issue.

Still having a right pain with this if anyone can offer any ideas. I've now changed the indicator stalk switch and having same issue. I'm pulling what little hair I have left out!!

I've cleaned them all up. Can't workout why it's only left hand indicator and only when headlights are on full. Side lights only and there's no issue

It's an earth issue - always is - one circuit can't get a return path, so either doesn't work at all, or affects another circuit by using it as said path  - can be very frustrating

Easiest way to find the fault, is to make a long earth lead - connect one end to the earth side of your battery, and the other to various points on the system affected - when the problem goes away - you'll know where the issue is....

I keep a piece of wire with a crop clip on one end, and a old meter probe on the other for tracing such annoyances, lest they drive me bananas ;)

Can’t speak for Series but on both my 90s this sort of thing was 90% of the time up in the rear arches crud would cause havoc with indicators/earths
Actually this is an issue with my 1986 90 and the back has been submerged in water and mud a number of times. I'll check everything back there too. Cheers
