Hi all,

After some advice from people in the know!

Later this year me and my partner are hoping to take the landy on a scottish adventure, but to take the land rover it would be great to have to use it and plan a trip where the roads/ locations need a 4x4... otherwise its impossible to not just take the car instead and save money in comfort.

Does anyone know of trips/ locations/ roads in scotland (West coast, inner + outer Hebrides) any islands that we can get the landy to and actually have to use it for its ability?

Thanks all!

No legal green lanes or similar in Scotland.
Your only options are Pay and play sites or book a 4x4 experience or guided drive on a estate. Or agreement with a land owner.

We drove to England to experience green lanes. Northumberland has plenty and only 4 hours drive away..

Wonder how you would train a E-Joke if and when it makes a mess on the floor. Would you rub it nose say "Bad E-Joke" Leave some Catty Litter tray and train it to use that instead. Scary  I guess the E-Jokers on here if any or feel willing oh admit to owning one, could elude what they do to house train.o_O

Take the car, there are no green lanes, offroad, public access sections in Scotland, it's an English thing.
There is also no law of trespass either, but this only applies to non-vehicular access, ie pick a hill/loch and walk up it/round it. Shut gates behind you, walk around fields with crops (not through the middle), mind oot for the beasties and don't step on a haggis or stop him running clockwise around a hill.
Take a tent, bring home your rubbish and wear the right clothes.
There are one or two midges about at the moment, late September early October is nicer.

This was us at loch Tummel last weekend! As already said not many places to go off road. Police came along this really quiet road to ensure no one was parked on road at night as its became a recent clear way, they were happy as long as you were parked off the road and as mentioned as long as you take all rubbish etc away no one will bother you.
