Intermittant failure, off on resets and works

So what is the most likely repair please?

Don't want to replace too much.

Yes I am good at soldering

If you have access to diagnostics then check the codes to make sure that they are being thrown up by the shuttle valve switches.

If you haven't done the SVS modification, then I would suggest you do it now. If the fault is down to the connection problem inside the ABS Modulator then that should sort it. If the fault is elsewhere then the mod should have no effect.

Most of the time it's not even necessary to replace the switch plate with a new one, just check for correct operation operation of the switches with a multimeter, although some people would prefer to fit a new one seeing as they've gone to the trouble of getting the old one out (£30-£40).

Once the mod has been incorporated, then I would suggest that you clear all fault code indications and check the operation of the vehicle. If the fault no longer presents itself then you're good to go, if the fault indication comes back then you're going to have to look deeper, and probably dig deeper too.

At about minute 5 in the video when he shows how the wires are soldered, that's wrong, DO NOT splice into the wiring as the original connector to be in the circuit, cut the wires from the switches and prolonge them out as the modulator's internal circuit to be completely bypassed not in parallel with the wiring mod if you se what i mean cos i've seen cases when the internal circuit had short to earth then the whole work is useless

I do not want to guide you to a wrong direction but in my case the problem (intermittent failure) has gone when I changed the SLABS ECU (due to other reason as it started to behave strange).
I also planned to do the mod on the SVS valve but as the problem shoved up only few times and I could clear it for weeks I did not do it. And since I changed the ECU no more amigos:)
I repeat, it is just my case....So if the mod will not solve your problem and you do not find other obvious reason, then you could try a used ECU to see if it solves the problem (a used ECU costs about 20-40 pounds).
