The Foot well Light unit seems positioned wrong as it illuminates the inside of the dashboard very nicely but doesn't illuminate the foot well at all. I can see it through the gap to the right side of the steering column and the light is pointing toward the side of the car. How do you access the unit? And how is it fixed as i want to try to reposition it where it should be. But I can't see how to get access to it.

Normally they just clip in, but removing it means getting your head where your feet normally go, so you can see what you're doing.

Finally managed to get it sorted, someone in the past had broken said light off of the vent it fixes too and had then just shoved the light over the top of the vent so it rested inside the Dash instead of actually fixing it. Was a nightmare to get access to and maneuver back to where it should be, had to take the Instrument surround off and stick an arm in then try to pick the light up and move it with 2 fingers. It was originally fixed to the vent with 2 Heavy duty Staples rather than clips as I discovered when i finally got it back to it's correct position , so improvised a little with a small self tapping screw to re-attach it to the vent. Complete PITA job as no room under there to get access and had to do most of it one handed as you can't get both hands in to hold things, but got there in the end

Is this a standard fit part? I've had my freebie for 11 years, and I've never seen it light up!

But then, I didn't know there was a light in the glovebox until a few weeks ago...
