Is the a novice type scanner about? i have searched and the hawkeye and nanocom come up but these are a bit pricey if you are not using them regularly, hopefully the landrover does not turn out to justify the spend.

I am thinking sub £100, for audi there is OBD eleven (<correct name) and BMer has the c110, surely there is a landy one?

it always good to have in advance of any panics...

thanks,
Stewart

so i finally got a scanner - Foxwell NT530, stood me £160 but it can be upgraded with downloads for other manufactures at around £50 so seen it as an investment.
You get 1 free download - obviously I went for the land rover / jag. haven't played that much yet but am impressed so far. you can save the scan and transfer to a computer from which you get a nice PDF report. on mine it detected 27 modules it froze on the 26th for some reason but i paused it on the 25th and got a report on 17?!?! as i say still haven't fully figured it out yet but there was a funny counting thing going on as it scanned - counted one module as 2 that sort of thing. you seem to be able to do all sorts with it, live streaming of data and a bit of coding even, it also has the important sunroof calibration lol.
goign to di another scan clear the way to many fault codes and see what comes back a week later then start working through them.
