Full service mystery on the D3 today, first time in my life I have attempted anything like this.

Less than two hours later Oil, fuel, air, pollen filters replaced, 5.5L of Mobil gone in as well as 250ml of ZX1 Extra Lube, filled it up with a full tank and added BG245 to hopefully clean the fuel system internally ( we'll see ) Before i dropped the oil out of it I added a full can of BG Engine Performance Restoration and went for a 20 min drive and followed the instructions to T, out of it came exactly 8L of oil? I have noticed that it is quiet as a mouse now maybe down to the ZX1? not sure we'll see.
 
Cutting out the rear floor on my D1, bloody spot welds are a bastard but think I’ve got them all,
Bit warm in the sun so will wrestle the old panel out tomorrow, also seen I need to replace the rear floor support cross Brace, well at least it gives me something to do,

When me and my cousing did mine, i'm sad to say that there wasn't much cutting involved...
Did you use a drill or a proper spot weld drill bit to get through them?

These are well worth the price! They cut through the top sheet of the metal leaving the base sheet and actual spot weld untouched. You just have to grind down the spot weld and you're left with the flat metal underneath.

yes I have one but unfortunately I couldn’t lay my hands on it in the garage, after 30 mins gave up and drilled out with normal drill, Trying to find the dimple where the spot weld is I found quite difficult perhaps I need to go to
Bernard castle to check my eyesight:) and I bet you tomorrow when I’m not looking for it I will find it somewhere obvious,

I'm constantly surprised at the unusual things i find in my glove box...
 
Totally failed to get the filter cap off the ACE block. Moved on to totally failing to get the sump plug out.
Having had similar issues with both axles, gearbox and transfer box I'm now convinced that the PO owned a rattle gun.
 
Gave my disco 2 a wash and changed the aux drive belt as mine had started making a noise and belt had couple of chips in and grooves were very wide and worn, took about a hour as I haven’t got fan spanner’s yet so had to struggle in a restricted space then dropped my 15mm long reach spanner for the tensioner down the 1/2 inch gap between rad and intercooler so took ages to fish that out, all good now though.
 
Intermittent amber warning light ( suspension ) has appeared

Whipped the compressor cover off and its full of white dust, looks like it has come out of the red nipple on the compressor drier

Its had a mind of its own this past week and would work then wouldn't etc

Now do i replace the compressor whole or do i get a repair kit etc? Looked at the air tank and that is suffering from corrosion also so may replace that as well at the same time

On my Disco 2... I started cutting away all the loose, broken and partially eroded conduit from wire and cable assemblies around the engine bay. It looks naked now!
Checking all the wires/cables for chafing and for exposed wire strands. I already have meters of various sized insulated wire wrap and split spiral loom conduit to replace it all.
 
It was too muggy today with the heat to fully work on Myrtle.
I crimped and heat shrunk 2 each 10AWG grounding cables from the intake manifold and coil pack mount area to the 10mm firewall ground bolt.

Syphon out the engine oil, it'll only take 3 days, guess how I know! I now use a pump so only takes a morning!

Brill idea! I assume you are using the little access hatches in the wheel arches?
