Hi guys, i have a 2004 L322 Vogue petrol, last year transmission overheated while in cornwall so when i returned ive had a recon gearbox and torque converter, after which i was still getting issues so they replaced and they replaced the transfer box with one they happened to have laying around.
ive not driven long distances to see if the first issue is cured but it keeps losing drive complete and sounds like a load of bolts in a tin can, i turn off and wait a few and it seems ok again, any ideas?

They replaced your transmission, torque converter and transfer box because you had a transmission overheat warning? Wow, I’m afraid they saw you coming :(. Did they not replace the main radiator and the transmission oil cooler?

Losing drive sounds more serious. It may be worth having a look underneath to check that your vehicle went through the Q041 Service Action back in the day.

You should be able to see if the front propshaft has a flexible joint where it enters the final drive.
