Hi all, looking to change a noisy chain, but the only kit seems to be britpart.
Individually, genuine chains are available and not much more expensive, but should i just go with the kit or buy everything individually?
Cheers

If you have the time buy genuine individually. I did a chain service a few years ago, I got a list of part numbers for an article on the net and bought individually. I see if I can still find the article.

I fitted a budget chain a few years ago and already the diesel pump is on full adjustment so if the chain stretches any more It will have to be replaced again. I only drive the damn thing a few thousand miles a year and it’s a sod of a faff removing the front of the series to do.
Next time I will be getting a decent one that isn’t beaten out of milk bottle tops in a Mumbai sweatshop.

+1 on using a genuine chain. The chainwheels may be ok - I'm rebuilding a 17H engine that was in a state, but the chainwheels were fine to re-use. I used a non-genuine damper pad (quality seems ok) but the non-genuine tensioner was rubbish - didn't even fit the mounting holes - so I rebuilt the original one instead.

thanks everyone, I had an idea this might be the case.
Island and paddocks only sell britpart chains :( craddocks have a genuine one, but a couple of folks on here have been complaining about them recently
