I am going to be doing a few jobs on my p38. I will be replacing air-conditioning radiator and recharging ac, I have a coolent leak somewhere. I noticed a small leak coming from under the center dash area where the blower vents are for heating. I'm pretty sure its the heater matrix etc. I have the usual oil leaks under car. Auto transmission leaks. I have replaced the oil cooler radiator and lines. Replaced crank pulley, water pump and thermo. I'm looking for any advice on procedures for heater matrix and ac jobs. I know once you start wrenching on 20 year old vehicles that other things break or can't be removed once installed due to bonding together. I'm trying to get my ducks in order to save unforseen problems. Any advice would help thanks.

The heater matrix O rings are a very easy job, so long as you have a dremel and a very long screwdriver..

The Matrix can leak, however it is more than likely the O rings..

The Autobox can leak from the input shaft seal, bearing wear in the pump allows the input shaft seal to leak..
They can also leak from the Tranny oil cooler...

If it is indeed the Matrix the dash will have to be disassembled, not too difficult with the RAve manual as a guide.

You don’t have to disassemble.
LR made a change to procedure where they cut a hole in the side of the dash to gain access.
Personally I’d rather take it out, hole doesn’t give great access makes it more a pig of a job and if dash is out you can be more certain of it not leaking
