With some difficulty I'd imagine, there are two latches...you may need to 'remove' the grill to have a fumble.
Start at the pull handle area, maybe it broke at the nipple OR the handle broke, some locking pliers may save you if it broke there.

Mine broke at the pull handle end in the footwell. I broke off about an inch of the cable outer sheath and have been using pliers to open the bonnet for about a year now. I might eventually change the cable but right now with other jobs to do it is way down my priority list!

If that fails, have a rootle under the front slam panel and find the cable to the latches and give them a tug!
