vibrating when im deceleration in thrid and forth gear.

hi, I have a discovery MK 2.
2.500 diesel.
x reg. The 2000 year. we call her sali.
lately, I have experienced some pretty bad vibrations when slowing down in 3 at first then started in 4th so somethings amiss just not sure what ?.
I'm a confident mechanic so could I do the job.?
we love our disco its cost us more than its worth but with a kid and 3 dogs we need her.
i would apprieciate some help.

Perhaps you have a degraded U-joint. Give them a check for play.

As above it's nearly always ujs, park on flat, handbrake off and give them a good shake

Thank you yes the front prop is moving when the hand brake applied. PHEW, that's a relief she lives again for another year.
Had this ol gal for 4 years now only threw a belt once apart from that a bit of money and shes alive ha ha haaaa. much appreciated.

The prop will turn a bit you need to look specifically at the UJs. If you've had it 4 years and not done them yet then they are probably due

Had a similar issue with our '82 RRC. Now both propshafts are replaced and it became much better! Still some light vibrtions from the back, so. But nowhere near as bad as before! SHould check the rear u-joints agian, it seems!
