There's a website you can check if you have the army number, just tap it in and it'll give you any info. Can't remember it for the life of me at the moment what it is called but I did check mine (no info returned:rolleyes:).

A mate of mine was posted to the Falklands not long after the war had ended. He saw loads of Land Rovers parked up in something of a dump parts recovery yard. Many had serious damage as result of snatch recovery's from the Falkland's sticky quag [ Islanders are among the best off road drivers in the world ] Front bumpers and rear cross members torn off or hitch points torn out.
Somewhere in government a decision was made that these wreaks should not flood the local vehicle/parts market so many were loaded on to landing craft then taken out to sea just off the coast and dumped.
This did not prevent the enterprising local's from recovering some. Divers went down and cables attached so the vehicles could be winched back to shore!
