Foxwell NT510 diagnostics

I see in the product details it lists Defenders from 2007 on. So I bet it doesn't help much with the not-quite-OBD-compliant ones such as the TD5. Assuming you don't need to examine a pre 2007 Defender, it's probably quite useful.

One of the problems with claims about this or that diagnostic code reader "working" on the Disco 2 sometimes boils down to how many and which ECUs does it communicate with, and how well. Or will the results end up as just nonsense?
Many will just give basic engine ECU data and you won't be able to read any other ECU such as SLABS or even the BCU. Nor will the owner be able to make any changes or even cancel historic DTCs.

A search will show that many owners have found that the Foxwell NT530 with the JLR software (or the older NT520), work well with a TD5. ISTR that even sierrafery has endorsed it. They were on sale over Christmas (NT530 with two manufacturers software was £149 - now £195 at 21% off) and I nearly bought one as it deals with live data better than my Hawkeye Total. Next time its similarly marked down I'm having one.
