Careful with the fulcrum.
I know you know but you know we know how it is
That is the bit that broke. So had to get a new one... finished ordering parts then had to panic ring back because I forgot the aux belt. Luckily they were still open and had one.

I had to go with £55 as it was the only place that could say they actually had them in stock, still won't get it before Saturday though, which is a pain.

Struggled to remove screen wash tank, 3/8 bolts as tight as hell. need to locate a level gauge now,or strip the other car to get that one. but more rust cleaning and painting then I can rebuild 1st corner with airbag

I’ve ordered EZ outs/guide pins. Was supposed to be here yesterday but no sign, guess everything’s slowed down bit so you may not get it til week after.
Yeah, even Amazon Prime has a lead time of 4 to 5 days. To be fair they are realistic and said expect 4 to 6 businesses days for delivery, given the current state of the world. Figured that is a few days to slowly strip off the old parts, maybe a quick clean, then possible sort some of the other gremlins I have been putting off.

Today, I went in search of the fabled orange light that allegedly means my radio is working.... with an axe...

Well you found the radio tuner but no orange light on that bit, its on the other bit at the front and I guess you are trying to tell us radio no worky yes ?

Yup! I have no knowledge whatsoever in this field so it's going to be an interesting voyage of discovery.

At the moment I'm pining all my hopes on this being the problem:

But I doubt if that's going to be the end of the story.....

I went out to investigate my non-opening tailgate only to find I now have an opening tailgate. I'll give everything I can see a clean and re-grease just in case.

Quite likely, when the boot button went intermittent on mine the first time it was a micro switch in the drivers door.
The second time it was the button itself for which I have a mod.
Yeah, I remember seeing your replacement button post when I was first searching for solutions to it not opening. Are the microswitches freely available? Might be woth a few quid on a pre-emptive replacement.

@martyuk I think does reconditioned door lock assemblies. The individual micro switches, there are 3, can be found on line, making up the 3 switch block is not so easy though. If you want to re-do the micro switches, I would get a second hand door lock from a breaker and overhaul that. Luckily, I already have a spare from my scrapper..
