Good day everyone.
I am a newbie having just joined.
I used to have a Disco 2 but now I run a Freelander 2 TD4 GS which is coming up to seven years old.
I live in the south of Hampshire.
I have a fault shown as P0405 which I understand is a low circuit in the EGR system.
When I had my Disco I blanked off the EGR in an effort to improve the consumption. This would indicate that the EGR isn't essential for the FL2, is this the case?
I also have a problem with the battery. After charging all night it started the car this morning but after 3 hours there wasn't enough poke to restart. could the two faults be tied up together?
Can anybody advise which is the best replacement battery and where the best place to obtain it from is please?
I enjoyed reading the posts in DOC, which I found very helpful, and look forward to the same in the LandyZone.
Kind regards

Get a branded battery from a tire fitter. Make sure it's the right size in Ah and the CCA cranking value is high enough for yer engine. Owner manual will advise minimum spec needed and type.

How old is yer battery?

You can blank oft the egr and it will still work. Some do but it's an emissions mot fail if they spot it.
