i cant watch it been in the trade ,antiques etc is very good viewing
...and although I hate with a vengeance most cookery programmes we actually like James Martin. He's a decent Yorkshireman with the right sense of humour and he ain't up his rse. Saw the one yesterday where he cooked for Michel Roux senior, who is also not up his rse either, unlike his son. But as it took place in southern France it left us a bit flat, once it finished and we looked around at our 4 british walls! am actually going to get some of his stuff and save the progs we have on the Humax. Fortunately I love cooking. Just can't stand some/most of the cretins who do it on the box. Bit like you with cars, I find my self shouting at him, "go on then, put the fu ckin milk in", or whatever and high fiving the wifey when we get it right ahead of him. Knew the pancake was too thick!:)

I find anything to do with being in a school makes my teeth curl! Especially when you see them doing it wrong and no one picks them up on it!
But yes we do tend to watch the antiquey stuff, and laugh when the expert gets it wrong and the competitors get it right! Pricewise.
Repair Shop?
Getting a bit samey now and not sure I am learning much. also a bit too emotional sometimes. but hey ho... sometimes they do do amazing stuff.

James Martin mentions Keith Floyd quite a bit and actually owns his old 2CV, he was driving it around the Cote d'Azur in yesterday's prog. He also has the same approach as Keth. Obviously they had a link somewhere.
Have to admit, despite not being a pro, that I have yet to learn much mechanically on Wheeler Dealers or Car SOS etc. Too much is too clean or too lucky, or they skip over the really tricky bit. But I do pick up the odd thing. But they are so rare I actually bother to tell wifey about it and she really couldn't give a sh!t! Usually. Love the way a car is there with just a few bits removed, then they have it again totally resprayed. No showing of the pain in the backside it is to strip everything out and off it then put it all back again. As you say it is TV and if it got really technical Mr Average would stop watching.

Did subscribe to that Motortrend channel on Amazon the other day for a month. Some good car shows on there, a few European, but mostly very, very US orientated. There's only so many Mustang / Firebird / Camaro / Charger rebuilds you can watch...

Yesterday he was looking at a Mura gearbox and could tell by the synchro hub the driving style of the owner..v,informative and delivered in a clear and concise style...
Maybe @jamesmartin could stand watching this one? No maybe not, much to close to work!;)
But this takes over where the Haynes manuals have now left off. they use to show you how to strip and rebuild gearboxes, not no more! Ditto diffs.
Hate being treated as a child by nannying corporations. And there are so many more errors in them now! (Got married in the Haynes Museum, great fun!)

Wheeler Dealers just slammed a Series 2... criminal!.... Warbird Workshop is an easy watch.... bit of Landy "action" (well driving along a dusty track) in Homeland the other night...
