As long as they were all in the same ball-park I figure they're probably good enough.

Within 10 Psi. But if the first one is 60 Psi and all the rest are within 10 Psi of it you have a problem. :D Throttle needs to be wide open to do it properly, otherwise airflow into the cylinder is restricted and a proper reading cannot be taken.

Thanks lads, slight further problem, it's on my mates farm and I'm not supposed to travel, I think it's 'vital' and I don't see anyone (apart the farmer occassionaly) but whether Mr. Plod would agree, hmmmm......................................

I think people are missing the point and I am utterly effed off with internet keyboard warriers posting pictures of people in the middle of nowhere with "essential" underneath it.

The point is to islate to stop spreading tge ****ing virus and limit the viral load you are exposed to so you don't become a statistic. It doesn't matter a **** to the virus if you go 10 yards or 10 thousand as long as you go near no-one else and make sure you don't have an accident.

Thanks Datatek but I have enough problems without trying to borrow a dog LOL:)
You could always say it run off and your looking for it. All good advice given, I've also taken the plugs out and squirted a good dose of Plusgas into the cylinders to release any stuck rings.Thought I sent this yesterday. Better late than never.Still won't send ???.

How's it going?

You wanna give'er RPM 'tll the valves float..:D

takes the carbon off the rings and the valves :D

Thanks for making me smile Henry_b, it's not going at all at the moment as I'm trying desperately to stay at home, however, that said, I've spoken to the farmer whose yard the car is in, and he's ok with me going over, he stays well clear and so I meet precisely no-one, the only other fly in the ointment is that the Redex I ordered, as advised, has still not arrived after 7 days, I've chased the seller (and ordered some more, just in case) so I expect to get to her early next week and then all the things I've read and taken on board will come in to play! Taking the '95 Disco (off-road version) for its MOT on Tuesday, I know I have a 6 month extension but I want to sell it and who'd buy a car with, in reality, no MOT? Stay safe lads.

if you need to simply change the valve seals there are loads of tools available see https://www.google.com/search?q=val...wKHZRrAEIQ9QEwHHoECAQQEw#imgrc=yeELJdUw9hTg4M:
I have one I have used for replacing them on a B Series engine. You need the right one for the job, but mine worked fine, just have to make sure you rotate the engine so that each pair of valves has the piston underneath it at top dead centre so the valve when released can rest on the top of the piston instead of ffing off into the cylinder!

Remove plug.
Push in a length of cord.
Turn engine slowly to TDC on compression stroke on that cylinder so both valves are closed.
Compresses the cord between piston & valve & stops the valve dropping.

To be fair to the government they realise that in order to get any message across they have to keep it simple (KISS) for a section of the community who are, not to put too fine a point on it, bloody thick. Once you start complicating things by making exceptions/variations to a rule the whole point is lost. Doctors & nurses (many of them with families) are losing their own lives whilst caring for patients suffering this dreadful affliction while all WE have to do in return is stay at home … not too much to ask is it?

Doubt it is stem seals to be fair..

My 4.6 smoked a tad after being sat almost 2 years..

Carbon'd up rings i'd put money on..

You're allowed out once a day for exercise. I live in the sticks and I have never seen so many cyclists. But they're 2 metres from anyone else so I guess that is OK.
