Hi all,

Freelander 1 TD4 2003

At the top of the fusebox are three male spade connectors grouped together in their own little enclosure. I've used two of them to power a USB phone charger (they didn't seem to be doing anything else) and thought afterwards "maybe I should check on those". Try as I might, I can't find any reference to them anywhere in my documentation.

Does anyone know what they're for?

I think I've managed to attach a picture of them..

That's connector C594. Its not referenced in the electrical section of Rave other than having a name on the fuse box diagram. The connectors either side are, but that one isn't.

However, it is referenced in the "Freelander Accessory Fitting". Its referenced for the various fog/spot/driving lamp kits STC7906 , STC50471, STC50472 and also STC50468 the "Accessory Power Socket" for the boot.

Not the center console power socket - that's off fuse 10 or 14 or something. I think its only used for the optional socket in the boot (may have been std on some models I suppose).
Depends on year of manufacture. C594 is used on mine, I have the central 12v but not the boot power socket.
Suppose I could unplug it, but that might develop into a can of worms:eek:

Nah. Unplug it and you're central console accessory power socket would still work - cos its powered off fuse F13.

Have you got fog/spot lights? They would use it. Or indeed anything else someone has wired in at some point.

No, no spots. And it was nearly new when we got it, so it was unaltered. Only thing I can think of is I have a factory fit Land Rover tow bar. So it could be the power take off for that.

Because that connector isn't described in the electrical diagrams, Rave doesn't show whether it is fused or not - so make sure you put an fuse in there somewhere or else if you get a short or something the car may go up in flames!

When I turn the lights on, the power to the USB socket is cut..!

I have some genuine land rover driving lights to fit but that's another project... ;)

Out of curiosity what are the connectors on either side for?

Thanks
