Curved Chassis Vin

Gents

Looking at buying a 1990’s 110, and the vehicle’s chassis vin appears to be “curved” (see photos).

Is this something that occurs normally based on the weld line, or does this appear to be a chassis vin that has been tampered with?
 
Not sure when they went over to the dot punched VIN no's, think it was during the 90's - I think that most of the original ones I've seen have been in a straight line though, even back to my 1971 lightweight! If it's been re-chassis'd or had a new dumb iron welded on though that could explain it....
 
It matches the vin plate and the seller claims it’s the original chasis....I have my doubts
