P38A EAS level confusion

Assuming i don't need to buy 'cheap eBay' ones, I'll bet that's what is on now, they don't look years old at all

I would replace all four cos they have all done the same work
Reckon Island 4x4 are pretty good for them
Make sure you get new clips as good chance the old ones are past their sell by date

I think mine are leaking down to age/poor quality, the car hasn't done many miles under my ownership

Is the job of physically getting them out a big job? Presume i don't have to depressurise if i put in access level and pull the relay?

Should be relatively easy to change

Cheers, are Dunlop's the way to go? Presume the set of 4 on eBay for £155 is too good to be true

You must depressurize as the car will collapse when you pull the air line out
There is a fair bit of pressure there even on Access
Also make sure there is some air in the new bag before you put the car's weight on them

Cheers, i was assuming you'd set to access then Jack the body up, giving the bags room to expand

Mine are Dunlop and seem ok so far

They are listed as new but no brand name

If it was me then I wouldn't lol

Depends how rusty everything is. 20 minutes a bag I'd say but longer if it goes nasty. I use an old steel coat-hanger folded over to pull the pins out. Might require a pry-bar to get the old bag out. As above, make sure car is supported and then pop the airline out and brace for the hiss!

The Dunlops at Island-4x4 and the like are fine. They're made in China under licence but will last maybe 7 years.

I cannot remember the name of the company that make them for Land Rover now but it isn't Dunlop anymore. It isn't Arnott either.

Time for new bags all round The bags have a design life of 7/8 years 80K miles unless you fit Arnotts.

From what i have read, arnott gen 2 last longer but are much more expensive.
I don't mind paying more for something that lasts longer, of you don't get ripped off in the process!
How much longer are they supposed to last? I've not yet seen anyone who actually sells them!!

I have had Arnott Gen 2's on one of mine for over nine years now and they still look like new. I got them on a promotion so they did not cost a lot more than Dunlops plus they came with a lifetime (probably worthless) warranty.
They are very expensive now so I fitted Dunlops on the project car.
P38 Spares sell them, £595 a set of Gen 2's

Sounds like i need to stick to the Dunlop's then

Depressurise the system before you pull any airlines, even on access and jacked up you'll get a nasty surprise.
If you can depressurise then get a very sharp knife and with care, carefully cut into the bag for removal. The moment it start to hiss, let it deflate by itself.
sometimes the rear airbag tops can be seized into place with rust and road dirt. A bit of a levering will shift them and then wire brush the airbag top seats as best as you can ready for the new dunlops. I got all four from island4x4, eurospares were the company who supplied mine.

Arnott gen 2 are about £125 a bag. I got mine from Allparts. There will be a list of suppliers on the Arnott website.

One thing to be aware of, the design of the Arnott bag means it cannot be disconnected from the airline without being replaced. I'm not sure why you would want to remove it but it seems unnecessary drastic to me.
